UD Almería set sights on Sporting Gijón as they look to bounce back

The Rojiblancos gear up for a crucial home clash after two consecutive defeats, with a fully available squad for the first time this season

UD Almería are set to return to action with renewed focus following their trip to Valladolid. The squad will land in Almería on Sunday evening, with a recovery training session scheduled for the players who featured most heavily in Saturday's match at José Zorrilla Stadium. The rest of the group will undergo a more intense session to maintain momentum.

After a well-deserved rest on Monday, the team will turn their attention to Saturday’s home clash against Sporting de Gijón (20 September, KO 9pm Spanish Time). With two consecutive defeats behind them, the Rojiblancos are determined to secure their first home win of the season, following a draw against Albacete BP and a loss to Real Club Racing de Santander.

Head coach Rubi will welcome back midfielder Lopy, who has served his suspension for a red card, while there is optimism surrounding Chumi’s recovery after his recent ankle injury.

Baba and Soko, who missed the trip to Valladolid, could also return to the squad, giving Rubi a full roster to choose from as Almería aim to turn their fortunes around.
