UD Almería focus on recovery as busy schedule looms

The Rojiblancos recharge for upcoming LaLiga Hypermotion and Spanish Cup games with recovery training

UD Almería kicked off their week with a recovery session following their hard-fought draw against Córdoba CF. The point earned in the 1-1 draw has kept them in a strong position in the league standings, maintaining their momentum. However, with a busy schedule ahead, the squad is now focusing on recharging their batteries.

Only those players who did not start or feature in the match against Córdoba CF were on the training pitch at the Anexo ground. Among them were Selvi, who participated fully with the team, and Fernando, who worked on the sidelines with a light session due to ongoing wrist discomfort. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad stayed in the dressing room area for individual work-outs, including gym sessions and physical therapy treatments.

The team will now shift focus to a demanding run of fixtures starting Sunday, when they host CD Castellón in LaLiga Hypermotion. Just days later, they will face CF Lorca Deportiva in the first round of the Spanish Cup (Wednesday, 29 October), followed by a Saturday clash (1 November) against SD Éibar. A total of three matches in just 6 days will test their depth and stamina.

The squad is set to take a break on Tuesday, before resuming training on Wednesday. Head coach Rubi welcomes back Alex Muñoz, who has served his suspension, but will be without André Horta and Chumi, both of whom are sidelined with injuries. Additionally, Selvi and Fernando’s recovery progress will continue to be monitored, with Nelson Monte also set for an assessment after missing last week’s sessions due to physical concerns.
