UD Almería back in training with positive updates ahead of CD Castellón game

Injury recoveries and key players returning as the Rojiblancos prepare for Matchday 11

UD Almería returned to training on Wednesday with high intensity following a rest day on Tuesday. The squad is gearing up for Sunday’s encounter against CD Castellón at the UD Almería Stadium, as they look to build on their recent momentum and strengthen their position in the standings.

Despite a few lingering injuries, there is good news for the Rojiblancos. Selvi, who missed previous sessions, is back with the group and fully participating in training. Fernando has also rejoined the team, while Nelson Monte and André Horta continue their recovery routines, with Monte now doing specific ball work on the pitch.

Alex Muñoz is available for selection after serving his one-match suspension, adding further depth to the squad. The only player currently sidelined is centre-back Chumi, who suffered a severe ankle sprain in the recent match against Córdoba CF. The full extent of his injury will be determined after further medical tests.

Looking ahead, UD Almería are focused on securing 3 points against a CD Castellón side that proved tricky opponents last season. With the team sitting 5th in the play-off spots, and only a few points behind the automatic promotion positions, they are raring to extend their strong form. The next two home fixtures provide the perfect opportunity to consolidate their position and push for promotion.
