UD Almería return to training ahead of another ‘final’
The Rojiblancos begin preparations for Monday’s home fixture against relegation-threatened CD Mirandés, who are still fighting for their league survival
UD Almería have resumed training with a high-tempo training session conducted at the Anexo base, kicking off a long week of work that will end next Monday with a home match against CD Mirandés.
It will be the third-to-last home fixture of the season and the closing game of Matchday 38, meaning the Rojiblancos will take to the pitch already knowing the results of their automatic promotion rivals.
The squad enjoyed a couple of days off after their impressive and outstanding 2-4 comeback victory over Granada CF at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium and they now face up to 5 training sessions to prepare for a tough game against CD Mirandés, still fighting for league survival and expected to come down south with all guns blazing.
Only a few weeks ago, the Castile and León side were 10 points from safety, but now they are just 2 points away from the relegation zone mark set by Cádiz CF. Highly demanding opponents for what is once again described as another ‘final’, given how tight the race for promotion is.
The Indálicos started work this Wednesday and will continue training through to Sunday, with most sessions held behind closed doors and in the morning, except for Sunday’s session, which will take place in the afternoon.
Marcos Luna, who was substituted in Granada, trained normally. Nico Melamed has started to reintegrate into the group and Baba trained separately but is already back on the pitch. His availability will depend on his progress over the coming days. The only confirmed absence is Chirino, who will serve the second and final match of his suspension.
The Rojiblancos are now fully focused on Monday’s game against CD Mirandés.
