UD Almería return to training ahead of Mallorca trip

Yaakobishvili returns to training as Almería begin preparations for Sunday’s trip to Mallorca, with 3 Academy youngsters joining the training session

UD Almería returned to training on Wednesday following Tuesday’s rest day, as preparations began for Sunday’s trip to Mallorca. Yaakobishvili was back in training, while 3 Academy youngsters joined the session due to the current absences.

Following a recovery session on Monday, the squad returned to work at the Anexo base with goalkeeper Yaakobishvili back with the group. The goalkeeper had missed the game against RC Celta Fortuna and Monday’s training session for personal reasons.

Xavier García Pimienta also called up 3 Academy youngsters: Popović, Kassoum Kone and Tomasevic, to make up the numbers during the session.

Stefan Dzôdić and Brian Cipenga are currently away on international duty with Serbia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo respectively, while Gui Guedes continues his way to full recovery following knee surgery.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo Ely has been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for arthritis in his right ankle. The Brazilian centre-back also worked at the Anexo pitch alongside physiotherapy coordinator Cid Andrade.

With RCD Mallorca now firmly on the horizon, UD Almería have begun preparations for a demanding fixture against one of their direct promotion rivals.

The match will take place on Sunday at 4:15pm at the Mallorca Son Moix Stadium.

The Rojiblancos have 3 further training sessions scheduled behind closed doors as preparations continue for the trip to Mallorca.
