UD Almería back on the pitch with Lopy now available

Martin Šviderský takes part in collective training after the serious injury he suffered with the 'B' team last season. From this Wednesday, behind-closed-door sessions

After being given Monday off, UD Almería are back on the pitch with the presence of Dion Lopy, who has trained normally along with the rest of his team-mates. The international Senegalese was ruled out of last Saturday's game in Getafe even though he arrived in Almeria last Thursday after joining up with the Senegal squad. Last Friday, in the last practice prior to the match at the Coliseum Stadium, the defensive midfielder ended up with muscle discomfort so it was decided to give him some time to recover properly and now he is available for selection.

On the other hand, Martin Šviderský has already started collective training for a while although his presence on the pitch and with the rest of the squad members is very significant after the serious injury he suffered last May playing with the 'B' team and which forced him to undergo surgery.

The long-term injured footballers remain on the sidelines, although in the case of some of them, the deadlines are already somewhat shorter, like those of Luis Suárez, Koné, Marc Pubill and Marezi.

In this first training session of the week, head coach Gaizka Garitano had 26 players, among them who were UD Almería 'B' youngsters Marcos Peña, Antonio Jesús Cantón and Rachad without forgetting Marciano, although he has been part of the first team since the beginning of the season.

As from this Wednesday, training will be conducted behind closed doors, alternating the Anexo with the Power Horse Stadium. On the horizon, Real Betis Balompié, who are on a nine-game unbeaten run; and the objective is to try to achieve the first victory of the current campaign.
