UD Almería back to work without Dzôdić and Guedes
The Serbian midfielder is away on international U21 duty, while the Portuguese winger is sidelined through injury. Baptistão will serve a one-game suspension
UD Almería have returned to training ahead of a long week that will end next Sunday, 29 March, when they host Real Sociedad 'B' in Matchday 32. The Andalusian side kicked off Matchday 31 last Friday and will close the upcoming Matchday.
The squad arrived back from Huesca on Saturday, held a recovery session and were given Sunday off before resuming training on Monday. The Rojiblancos now enter a decisive stretch of the season, with the race for automatic promotion places tighter than ever, something UD Almería are firmly involved in.
Training at the Anexo base took place without Stefan Dzôdić, who has joined Serbia’s U21 national team, and Gui Guedes, who is out injured. The Portuguese winger is dealing with a tear in the adductor of his left leg and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, with his return depending on recovery progress. Léo Baptistão will also be unavailable after receiving a straight red card in Huesca and must now serve a one-game suspension.
Despite these absences, head coach Rubi still has enough depth in his squad to cover and plenty of time to prepare his line-up for a Real Sociedad 'B' side enjoying an impressive campaign. Although they lost at home to Granada CF recently, they have already pulled off notable away wins this season against Deportivo La Coruña (0-3), FC Andorra (1-2), Cádiz CF (0-2) and Córdoba CF (0-2).
