UD Almería eager to remain top of LaLiga Hypermotion in 2025
The Rojiblancos are now preparing the tactics and game strategy for their first return fixture of the season. The euphoria from the Spanish Cup has been left behind. Léo Baptistão and Luis Suárez are back in the group
The Spanish Cup euphoria sparked after being through to the round of 16 has been left behind. After thrashing Sevilla FC 4-1 in the tournament, the next round will see Rubi's side hosting top-tier side CD Leganés. The main objective is to regain promotion to the top flight and after finishing the first half of the season brilliantly, the Rojiblancos are eager to continue trading upwards in 2025.
This Sunday the domestic league resumes in the new year, and Rubi's men intend to extend their impressive 12-game unbeaten streak. The squad members are now preparing the tactics and game strategy for the meeting at the Nuevo Arcángel Stadium where the Indálicos are going to visit Córdoba CF, who along with Levante UD, are the only team that have not lost on home turf.
Without a doubt, it will be a challenge for UD Almería, who will not be able to count on Melero, due to a one-match suspension, in Córdoba, nor will the head coach be able to count on the long-term injured Gui Guedes and Baba. Luis Suárez, Segunda's top scorer with 16 goals, as well as Léo Baptistao, who has just become a father, have joined the group after being absent, with the Club's permission, from Wednesday's session.
The Rojiblancos trained behind closed doors this Thursday morning on the Anexo ground and they will do it again, in the same way, this Friday and Saturday, in the Stadium.
