UD Almería would like to finish this week on a high

Vital league game against Deportivo Alavés, who are three points just above the relegation zone. The competitiveness shown by UD Almería in the Spanish Cup last Tuesday must be transferred to the LaLiga EA Sports

UD Almería will be looking to clinch the first league victory this Sunday (KO 2pm Spain Time) at the Mendizorroza Stadium against Deportivo Alavés. The Rojiblancos beat CF Talavera de la Reina to seal passage to the Spanish Cup second round and with the firm intention of definitively starting a winning run.

As there is no training this Saturday, Mr Garitano could count on some players who have not featured in the last games: Akieme, Robertone and Baba. The three of them completed the session with their team-mates while Centelles was in the medical room along with Luís Suárez, Koné and Pubill.

The Rojiblancos trained on the Anexo pitch this Friday, improving their concentration and focusing squarely on the next game; UD Almería will only be able to accomplished two training sessions because at noon on Saturday, they will have to fly out to Vitoria. Coaching staff and squad players are well aware of this situation.

As we have mentioned, UD Almería changed thanks to the Cup action success the statistics of not having won an official match yet this season. In addition to the fact of not conceding a goal and therefore, keeping a clean sheet. They have begun to walk on the right path towards the much-needed comeback in the league.

This weekend, it is the right time to keep up the good work when facing the team -Deportivo Alavés- just above relegation in Primera Division so, in case of victory, they would close the gap with said position. In addition to the obvious boost of confidence that would give them finishing the week with two consecutive victories.

'El Glorioso' have gone seven consecutive games without winning, although they did win the Copa del Rey tie in style. Canarian referee Juan Luís Pulido Santana will be the man who will be in charge of Sunday's match and will be assisted by Pablo González Fuertes in the VAR.
