UD Almería Women could be crowned league champs this Saturday
A point against bottom-side CD Úbeda Viva would seal the title and put play-off spot within reach
UD Almería Women could be crowned league champions this Saturday in Group IX of the Tercera Federación while also taking a major step toward securing a place in the promotion play-offs.
The Rojiblancas' match kicks off this Sunday at 12 noon away to bottom-side CD Úbeda Viva, who have just 1 point in the standings. UD Almería Women currently lead the table with 49 points, 11 clear of second-placed Arenas de Armilla. With 4 matches remaining, 12 points still at stake, a draw would be enough for the girls to clinch the title, as they hold the head-to-head advantage over their closest rivals.
However, winning the league is only a step toward their main objective: reaching the promotion play-offs to Segunda Federación. To do so, the UDA girls must also surpass the top-team from the other Andalusian group, Group X, where Cádiz CF 'B' Women and Sevilla FC 'B' Women are both on 40 points.
Given the current gap, UD Almería Women could also secure their play-off place this weekend depending on results, with qualification now firmly within their grasp.
