UD Almería step up the pace on the road to the top flight

The Rojiblancos are working with intensity ahead of Monday’s home opener against CD Eldense. They will train at the Stadium on Wednesday, have Thursday off and begin the final stretch of preparations on Friday

UD Almería already have LaLiga Hypermotion firmly on the horizon, although there is still some time to fine-tune preparations ahead of their opening league fixture against CD Eldense on Monday, with the game bringing the opening round of the campaign to a close.

The match will come against a side returning to the division and it will be the first of 3 consecutive fixtures at the start of the season against newly promoted teams. UD Almería will then travel to face CD Tenerife and Sabadell FC in successive away games.

As UD Almería head coach Xavier García Pimienta has stressed, his team must take things one game at a time and focus solely on the next challenge. For the Rojiblancos, that challenge is CD Eldense, with the aim of making a positive start to the league campaign.

Following their pre-season training camp and a series of friendly matches, the squad are now working at home and have stepped up preparations for the start of the championship. The Rojiblancos trained with great intensity in sweltering conditions at the Anexo ground on Tuesday. On Wednesday, they will train at the Stadium for the first time, while Thursday will be a day off after a long week of preparation.

It will be a welcome break before the squad enter the final stretch of their preparations.

García Pimienta is currently working with a group of 26 players who have made a very positive impression throughout pre-season, particularly in the team’s two most recent friendlies. Their performances have highlighted the progress made in recent weeks.

UD Almería are heading in the right direction and they are determined to stay on course.
