UD Almería demand explanations from CTA regarding refereeing decisions
The Club claims refereeing rulings have influenced 3 defeats this season
UD Almería will formally address the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) by sending a letter requesting explanations for the controversial refereeing decisions that have impacted their performances this season, particularly in light of their 3 defeats in LaLiga Hypermotion.
The Club is seeking clarification regarding the contentious 80th-minute penalty awarded by referee Alejandro Morilla, who hails from Navarra, during Wednesday's match against AD Ceuta FC. The penalty, which resulted in the final score of 3-2, has raised serious concerns within the UD Almería camp.
UD Almería do not understand how a penalty could be awarded in a situation where the ball was not in play inside the penalty area and when two players, Bonini and Anuar, were clearly holding each other, leading to Anuar's fall. Furthermore, the Club questions why VAR did not intervene in this seemingly clear-cut scenario.
While the UD Almería have expressed their concerns, the Club continue to maintain great respect for the refereeing body and the integrity of the competition. They emphasise that transparency and consistency in applying the rules are vital to ensuring fairness and equality for all teams.
