UD Almería show full support for high speed train arrival in 2026

Last Sunday, the Club held a promotional event together with the Chamber of Commerce in a bid to draw attention to the 'Mediterranean Core Network Corridor'.

UD Almería show full support for the 'Objetivo Almería AVE-Corredor Mediterráneo' [Mediterranean Core Network Corridor] campaign that the Chamber of Commerce promotes, which includes as one of its main purposes the arrival of the AVE [high speed train] to Almería in 2026.

UD Almería Managing Director Mohamed El Assy and President of Almería Businessmen Association Jerónimo Parra held a meeting in which the Club CEO conveyed their total support to the business in institution.

In addition, the UD Almería starters will be walking onto the pitch this Sunday [UD Almería vs Valencia CF] wearing T-shirts that will read 'Objectivo Almería AVE- Corredor Mediterráneo 2026.' The players will pose next to a banner with the same message. Apart from this, videos and advertisements will be screened on the scoreboards and pitch-side LED advertising boards at the Power Horse Stadium with an eye to raise awareness of the transport and infrastructure requests made by the province of Almeria.

Jerónimo Parra stated that 'the important step taken by UD Almería is one more example of their close connection to Almería and its future projects to become a more modern and competitive city, which will happen through the AVE [high speed train] and the Mediterranean Core Network Corridor section that will be a reality in 2026. Thanks to Mohamed El Assy, whom we must thank for the nice gesture of contributing to the promotion of this campaign by making the Power Horse Stadium available.'

Mohamed El Assy, well aware of the social benchmark that UD Almería represent and its ambitious project, indicated that the Club must promote objectives such as those promoted by the Chamber of Commerce.' Meanwhile, a significant number of Almeria-based companies, businesses and associations also demonstrate their total support to the 'Objectivo Almería AVE-Corredor Mediterráneo' campaign.
