UD Almería eye return to automatic promotion spots

The Rojiblancos host CD Leganés at 6:30pm (Spanish Time) aiming to take a major step toward promotion to the top flight of Spanish football

UD Almería are gearing up for Matchday 34 of LaLiga Hypermotion, with a crucial home game against CD Leganés kicking off at 6:30pm (Spanish Time). The fixture could mark a significant turning point in the Rojiblancos’ push for automatic promotion to the top flight.

While several matches still remain, a victory this Sunday would lift UD Almería back into second place, 1 point clear of Deportivo de La Coruña and 4 ahead of the 4th-placed side.

Head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' has stressed that plenty can still happen in the final stretch of the season and recent results have proven just that. UD Almería slipped to 3rd after Thursday’s defeat to CD Castellón, as their direct rivals picked up wins. However, just days later, draws involving Dépor and Málaga CF have reopened the door for the Andalusian side to climb back into the top-2.

The Club are counting on strong backing from the home crowd, which Rubi highlighted as a key factor in the promotion race. Winning all 5 remaining home fixtures would put UD Almería within touching distance of their objective.

This Sunday’s conditions are also more favorable, warmer weather, an evening kick-off and no competing local events setting the stage for a rocking atmosphere at the UD Almería Stadium.
