UD Almería begin long week ahead of Monday’s league fixture
The Rojiblancos return to training with their focus on Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, who have collected 17 of their 27 points away from home
UD Almería resumed training after a couple of days off, following Saturday’s recovery training session and now begin a very long week that will end on Monday with their home league fixture against Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa.
Although the visitors currently sit third from bottom in the table, their away record demands full attention. Cultural have collected 17 of their 27 points on the road, making them a particularly competitive side away from home.
They have claimed notable victories over Racing de Santander (2-4), Real Valladolid CF (0-1), Real Zaragoza (0-5), Cádiz CF (1-2) and SD Eibar (1-2), the latter holding the strongest home record in the league. In addition, they earned draws FC Andorra (1-1) and CD Leganés (1-1). Cultural have scored 19 goals away from home, just one fewer than UD Almería.
These figures highlight the challenge awaiting the Rojiblancos on Matchday 29. With the standings so tight and home advantage on their side, securing all 3 points is essential, especially with consecutive away trips to Zaragoza and Huesca to follow.
The extended preparation period provides an opportunity to continue refining performances as the competition enters a decisive stage.
Head coach Rubi will welcome back Álex Muñoz and Adrián Embarba after suspension. Meanwhile, André Horta continues individual work on the pitch as part of his recovery, while Dzôdić, who was forced off with discomfort in Friday’s match in Albacete, remains under assessment.
From Wednesday onwards, all 5 training sessions scheduled for the week will take place behind closed doors.
