UD Almería enter decisive phase of LaLiga with no room for error
The Rojiblancos have to excel in the 10 matches remaining until the end of the season. Next Saturday, they host Levante UD
Luis Aragonés used to say that championships are decided in the last 10 matches, which are precisely the ones UD Almería have before reaching the end of the LaLiga Hypermotion regular season. The Rojiblancos agree with that statement since, after the setback against Burgos CF at El Plantío Stadium, they have to hold on to something to continue aspiring to the promotion goal.
Things have become very complicated for UD Almería, but as their head coach said, 'there are 10 matches left and we're not going to give up.' Neither should we give up, nor should we fail, because there's no room for error... points to add, lots and lots... 30!
The Indálicos will have 6 matches at home, where the role of the fans must be key and decisive. Four of them will be against Cartagena, Racing de Ferrol, Eldense, and Tenerife, the teams at the bottom of the table. The other two will be against direct rivals Racing de Santander and Levante UD, the latter next Saturday. Away, they have to visit Granada and Cádiz, as well as Castellón and another promotion contender, CD Mirandés.
Many permutations can be made by looking at other teams' schedules (Racing Santander have up to 5 big games), but what matters now is getting back into the swing of things, showing the team's attacking prowess and above all, locking down the goalkeepers, because conceding so many goals makes things even more difficult. That's 44 now, 27 of them away.
The squad return from Burgos this Saturday. They'll do so on a charter flight and will have recovery training as soon as they arrive in Almería. Sunday will be a rest day for the squad, and they'll return to work on Monday. 5 sessions lie ahead to prepare for the first major final against Levante UD.
