UD Almería gear up for tough test against current pacesetters Dépor
The Rojiblancos resume training with eye on third consecutive victory in La Coruña
UD Almería have returned to training ahead of their challenging match against RC Deportivo de La Coruña on Saturday at the Abanca-Riazor Stadium (Matchday 8). After a difficult stretch, the Rojiblancos now face the formidable task of taking on the league pacesetters in an electrifying atmosphere.
Despite the tough opposition, UD Almería are riding high on the back of two consecutive victories, a feat they aim to extend to three, though the challenge will be immense. The Indálicos have displayed a high level of play this season, maintaining a strong tempo that they hope to carry into the game against Dépor, who judging by their impressive start, may soon be adding 'Super' to their name.
The match will be the fifth away game out of eight for the Rojiblancos, and like their previous encounters with historical heavyweights such as Racing de Santander, Real Valladolid CF, Sporting de Gijón and UD Las Palmas, this will be another tough test.
UD Almería’s preparations have been slightly disrupted by injury concerns. Embarba, who received his marching orders in the match against UD Las Palmas, is expected to miss the trip to La Coruña. Meanwhile, Lopy is working hard to recover from a grade 1 adductor injury sustained against Sporting de Gijón. While he is still a doubt for the upcoming fixture, he has begun some ball work on the grass, but his participation remains uncertain.
Several international players have also left training early or have engaged in individualised sessions to tailor their preparation.
With the game against the league leaders looming, Rubi's squad will focus on fine-tuning their game plan behind closed doors in the lead-up to the encounter with Dépor.
