UD Almería to learn next Spanish Cup opponents this Wednesday

The draw takes place at 1pm and the round of 16 tie takes place next week. The Rojiblancos will once again play at home against one of the 12 top-flight teams

UD Almería are to learn their new Spanish Cup round of 16 opponents at 1pm this Wednesday. The draw will be held at the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the adversaries will once again belong to the Primera division, with the match also being played at the UD Almería Stadium next week between 14-16 January. 
 
It is the fourth round of the tournament in which the Indálicos have already knocked out San Sebastián de los Reyes, Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa and Sevilla FC, who were thrashed 4-1 last week. 
 
A total of 16 teams will enter the draw and will be distributed by tiers in different pots. There will be 12 top-tier clubs inside pot 'A': Rayo Vallecano, Getafe CF, Real Betis, CA Osasuna, FC Barcelona, ​​Atlético de Madrid, Athletic Club de Bilbao, Celta de Vigo, Real Sociedad, CD Leganés, Real Madrid CF and Valencia CF. 
 
UD Almería's ball will be inside pot 'B' along with Elche CF, who are the only second-tier LaLiga Hypermotion sides that are still in contention in the Cup tournament. 
 
In addition, third-tier Primera RFEF team Ourense CF will be in pot 'C' while fourth-tier Segunda RFEF team Pontevedra CF will be in pot 'D'.
 
The Spanish Cup round of 16 draw will match the teams from the lower division with those from the higher division, so UD Almería will host one of the 12 top-flight clubs of Spanish football.
