
UD Almería unpack suitcases in Benahavis
Samú Costa and Bruno Iribarne have joined their team-mates in the pre-season training camp at the Westin La Quinta Golf resort & spa resort located in the Málaga-based town of Benahavís, where the Rojiblancos have already unpacked their suitcases.
The UD Almería players have a gym and football pitch at the hotel facilities, although they will also go to the Marbella Football Center to play the friendly matches scheduled.
The Portuguese midfielder and the Almeria-born goalkeeper are now back in training after finishing their holidays. Samú has recently participated in the Euro U21 championship reaching the quarter-finals, while Bruno Iribarne has competed with Spain U19 in the Euro U19 Championship losing to Italy U19 in the semis.
Head coach Vicente Moreno will put 31 players through their paces in this pre-season camp. Regarding the footballers who had been training with the first squad in the sessions held at the Anexo ground, Iván Martos and also youth players Avelino and Marcos Peña have not travelled to Marbella as they have joined the 'B' team preparations. Arnau Solá has been loaned out to FC Cartagena.
The players who will take part in this pre-season training camp are the following:
Goalkeepers: Fernando, Mariño, Obón and Bruno.
Defenders: Mendes, Pozo, Kaiky, Rodrigo Ely, Babić, Chumi, Akieme and Alex Centelles.
Midfielders: Edgar, Eguaras, Melero, Samú Costa, Robertone, Arnau Puigmal, Šviderský and Gui Guedes.
Wingers: Ramazani, Lázaro, Appiah, Embarba, Baptistão and Rojas
Forwards: Luis Suárez, Dyego Sousa, El Bilal Touré, Marciano and Marezi.
UD Almería will spend ten days in this off-season training camp with training sessions and friendly matches. This Sunday, 23rd July, they will face UD Las Palmas and on Thursday, 27th July, Malaga CF will be the opposition.
