UD Almería bring Three Kings' Day magic to fans with special training session
The Club shares holiday cheer with supporters in a rain-soaked open training event
UD Almería broke from their usual routine on the eve of Three Kings' Day, hosting a special open training session for fans at the Club’s training ground. Despite heavy rain, around 500 supporters filled the stands to witness the team’s preparations, creating a festive atmosphere ahead of the 6 January holiday.
The session, which took place after a recovery training following Saturday’s victory over Granada CF, allowed the players to enjoy the holiday with their families, as the team had Tuesday off. In a heartfelt gesture, the squad distributed LaLiga match footballs, signed autographs and posed for photos with fans, further strengthening the bond between the Club and its loyal supporters.
The event kicked off with head coach Rubi and his coaching staff receiving a standing ovation, setting the tone for what would be an exciting afternoon. The crowd’s energy soared as players hit the field, including André Horta, who returned to team training after recovering from a virus. Nico Melamed and Bonini also trained separately, earning cheers from the fans in the process.
In terms of squad updates, winger Nico Fernández and midfielder Hugo from UD Almería 'B' joined the session, while Selvi, Lopy, Chumi and Pedro Fidel were absent. Following the holiday break, the team will resume preparations on Wednesday, with Thalys expected to join and Soko continuing his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon.
