UD Almería put an end to intense and productive week

The Rojiblancos have Saturday and Sunday off and will resume training on Monday with an eye to focus on trip to Villarreal on Sunday, 17th September

UD Almería have put an end to an atypical week as there is no LaLiga EA Sports competition due to the international break that will also happen in October. It has been a very intense and productive week in which head coach Vicente Moreno encouraged his players in the last session, held this Friday at the Anexo training ground. The gaffer also congratulated them on the work done.

There have been five days of training sessions in which Mr Moreno has been able to correct aspects of their game and improve others by playing an intra-squad game last Thursday. The week has not been complete because in a squad with so many new arrivals with the league already started, it would have been ideal to have all the players to join preparations, and it has not been like that.

After the match against Celta de Vigo, six footballers have received international duty calls: full-back Mendes, centre-back Kaiky, midfielders Baba and Lopy, and forwards Koné and Lázaro. Counting on everyone would have meant taking a huge step forward, but the FIFA 'virus' has certainly had an impact in Almería.

Since it is an ill wind that blows nobody any good, Vicente Moreno has been able to put eight UD Almería 'B' youngsters through their paces along with the first team. Nonetheless, those youth team players are now back to the UD Almería 'B' squad as they make their Tercera RFEF debut this Sunday against guests Atlético Malagueño.

UD Almería have been given this Saturday and Sunday off and will back to the office again on Monday. It will be time to focus on the visit to Villarreal CF (Sunday, 17th September/ KO 4:15pm local time). Vicente Moreno will not have all his troops yet because the internationals will arrive at throughout the week and we will have to check in what shape they arrive after playing with their national teams and long journeys.
