UD Almería land highly-rated Brazilian striker Thalys from SE Palmeiras
The 20-year-old forward puts pen to paper on a 6-year deal and takes on the No. 9 shirt
UD Almería have officially announced the signing of Thalys Henrique Gomes de Araújo, a 20-year-old Brazilian striker from SE Palmeiras, in what is seen as a major coup for the club. The promising forward, widely regarded as one of the standout young talents in Brazil, has put pen to paper on a 6-year contract that runs until June 2031.
Thalys, who was closely monitored by several top European clubs during the transfer window, arrives as a direct acquisition by UD Almería. A former team-mate of Real Madrid's Endrick at Palmeiras, the São Miguel dos Campos-born forward brings with him both pedigree and potential.
Standing at 1.85m and naturally left-footed, Thalys is known for his versatility across the front line but is most effective as a centre-forward. At UD Almería, he will don the iconic No. 9 shirt, a number steeped in attacking responsibility.
In Brazil, Thalys has built a reputation as a dynamic attacker with excellent mobility, technical ability, and aerial prowess. He made 59 appearances for SE Palmeiras’ U20 side and featured 13 times for the senior squad, 11 in the Campeonato Paulista and 2 in Brazil’s Serie A.
With his arrival, UD Almería hope to bolster their attack and invest in a long-term offensive asset ready to make his mark in European football.
