UD Almería 'B' tick off first training session after Christmas break
The UD Almería Academy prospects compete again next Sunday, 12 January when they host Águilas FC at the start of the second half of the season
UD Almería 'B' have ticked off the first training session of 2025 after the Christmas break, although they will not compete again until next Sunday, 12 January, when they host Águilas FC at the start of the second half of the season.
Last Thursday, after New Year's Day, the squad began to exercise. This weekend the lads will also train while Monday, 6 January will be a day off. Starting on Tuesday, 7 January, the 'B' team will focus on preparations for the match against Águilas FC, rivals who started the season with the goal of promotion, but find themselves in the middle zone of the table, closer to the drop zone than to the play-off spots, where the youthful Rojiblancos are. In fact, the 'B' team sit fourth, just one point behind the second and third places.
The team led by Alberto Lasarte completed a brilliant first half to the season, being one of the teams at the top of the game. Now they want to keep it up and start the return fixtures on the right foot against opponents who are difficult to beat. They have registered 10 draws in the competition.
UD Almería 'B' said goodbye to 2024 with a victory at home, where they want to show greater consistency. Four out of the five defeats they have suffered have been on home turf and only one away, away to the bottom team in the last trip that was made.
