UD Almería 'B' to play crucial game UCAM Murcia at La Condomina Stadium
The match will be played at 12 noon this Sunday. Third placed against the fourth in a weekend in which the top 6 teams in the league play each other
UD Almería 'B' face a play-off match against UCAM Murcia at 12 noon this Sunday at La Condomina Stadium in the city of Murcia. It is Matchday 30, but given the strength of the opponents, it could very well considered a promotion play-off game, although the result could clarify many things going into the final. Especially if we take into account that the top 6 teams in the league play each other this weekend: UCAM (third) vs UD Almería 'B' (fourth); Juventud Torremolinos (first) vs La Unión (second); and Estepona (sixth) vs At. Antoniano (fifth).
UD Almería 'B' and UCAM Murcia are having a rather inconsistent second half of the season. So much so that the Murcianos reached the halfway point of the championship as pacesetters with a 6-point advantage. The Rojiblancos have barely moved from 4th place over this second half of the season, although with ups and downs due largely to injuries, suspensions or first-team squad call-ups.
Playing at La Condomina Stadium is a challenge due to the high stakes in the matchup with just 5 matches remaining in the regular season and a rematch to determine what team UD Almería 'B' will face.
In the first half of the season, they only lost one away match and in the second, they suffered three defeats, one draw, and two wins. On Matchday 13, UCAM edged past UDA 'B' 0-1 to take the lead. Now, both sides sit third and fourth, respectively, with just 2 points between them… And their rivals are pressing hard.
The group winner is promoted to the third-tier Primera RFEF; the second, third, fourth, and fifth teams will compete in the promotion play-offs and the competitiveness is the highest even in the eighth or ninth place.
