UD Almería Women to face final on Unión Viera's pitch

The Rojiblancas look to make their presence known in the table by beating direct rivals in the fight for survival this Saturday (kick-off 7pm CEST)

UD Almería Women are to play a final at 7pm this Saturday at the Alfonso Silva Stadium, home to direct rivals Union Viera. The UD Almeria girls are jetting into Gran Canaria with their minds set on bringing the three points back to the peninsula and take a huge step forward towards safety. That would be great since the Indálicas will be given three points in their last game to the season given the fact that the last opponents this term quit the competition long time ago.

Not everything looks so easy since the Indálicas must pay attention to FF La Solana's results, who have two big games coming up against top two UD Levante 'B' Women and Madrid CFF, both teams fighting to move up a tier.

As for the game, the Canarian outfit are not doing really well. They have not collected any points in their last five fixtures and therefore, they have re-entered the relegation zone and do not depend on themselves to save the campaign. The Rojiblancas find themselves in the same situation, but on a somewhat better streak than their rivals, since in the last few five games, they have been able to add a point that now gives them the possibility of, in the case of winning, beat Unión Viera in the standings.

Before the penultimate Matchday of the  Segunda RFEF Grupo Sur begins, the positions of relegation are occupied by: Unión Viera with 25 points, UD Almería Women (23), CD Pozoalbense Women (20) and bottom team Santa Teresa (0), who are already out of the competition as a no-show team.

The rivals to be beaten by these team are FF La Solana, placed just above the drop zone with 25 points. It is for this reason that the clash between Unión Viera and UD Almería Women can be referred as a final, since whoever wins, will be well reinforced and with big chances to escape the drop.
