UD Almería Women face final league game at home with promotion play-offs in mind

The Rojiblancas take on CD ATM Melilla this Sunday at the Emilio Campra youth stadium, aiming to build momentum ahead of the decisive promotion stage

UD Almería Women bring the regular season to a close this Sunday at 18:00 as they host CD ATM Melilla at the Emilio Campra youth stadium. Despite it being the final league fixture, the campaign is far from over, with the play-offs for promotion just around the corner.

Already crowned Group IX champions and with a play-off spot secured, the UDA girls now face the only side to have beaten them this season.

CD ATM Melilla, currently third in the table, claimed a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign, a match in which UD Almería Women failed to perform at their usual level. Since then, however, the hosts have been nearly flawless. Aside from that defeat and an opening-day draw, they have gone on a remarkable run, winning every game in the second half of the season and establishing a clear gap over their rivals. Their tally of 95 goals scored underlines their dominance.

This encounter will serve as a valuable test ahead of next week’s promotion play-offs, with the draw for the knockout ties set to take place on Monday.
