UD Almería Women set for first derby against CFF Mvrgi in El Ejido
The Rojiblancas will face local rivals in key match at the Santo Domingo Stadium Anexo at 12 noon this Sunday
UD Almería Women will face their first Almería derby of the 2025/26 season when they take on CFF Mvrgi this Sunday at 12 noon. The match, which will be held at the Santo Domingo Stadium Anexo in El Ejido, marks an exciting start to the local rivalry within Group IX of the Tercera RFEF.
With the restructuring of women’s football, UD Almería Women are no longer the only representatives from the province in this division. Both CFF Mvrgi and UD Pavía Women have also climbed to the same tier, making for a competitive provincial landscape.
CFF Mvrgi, despite being newcomers to the competition, have already shown their quality, securing an impressive 3-1 victory over Real Jaén CF Women on Matchday 1. Their squad also features several players with previous experience at UD Almería Women, adding extra intrigue to the encounter.
For the Indálicas, the derby follows a challenging start to the season, having drawn 1-1 at home against Arenas de Armilla last weekend. The match in El Ejido presents a stern test for the team as they look to build momentum in the race for promotion.
