UD Almería open training session to fans

Over 100 UD Almería supporters watch their team train as players sign autographs and pose for photos after drilled-filled work-out

UD Almería returned to training after 2 days off with a demanding training session delivered at the Anexo base and this time, with the stands open to the fans. More than 100 UD Almería supporters turned up on a weekday morning to watch the squad put in the hard yards.

Head coach Rubi opted to open the session to the public, a gesture warmly received by the faithful. Fans were able to get up close to the players, ask for autographs and snap photos at the end of training. Some brought banners, including one supporter who had previously followed Soko during his time at SD Huesca and displayed an emotional message for the forward. Families, grandparents and young children were also in attendance, making the most of a rare opportunity to see the team at work.

Supporters are not usually allowed to attend training sessions, except on special occasions such as this one. The crowd enjoyed the chance to watch the team from close quarters, along with a high-tempo and varied session that lasted around 90 minutes. Earlier in the morning, the squad had already begun preparations inside the Stadium, working in the gym and dressing room areas before heading out onto the grass.

Rubi welcomed back Soko after he missed the game with FC Andorra due to personal reasons. However, Baba will be unavailable as he serves a one-match suspension for accumulated bookings.

As for the injured players, all are entering the final stages of recovery. Lopy, HortaGui Guedes and Nico Melamed trained separately, although the latter briefly rejoined the main group. Nelson Monte and Alex Centelles remained in the medical room receiving treatment.

UD Almería now face 3 more sessions behind closed doors as they step up preparations for the upcoming fixture against Córdoba CF, who travel to Almería in excellent form and full of confidence.
