The Croatian side secure loan deal with option to buy. The Spaniard is set for European football after two full seasons at UD Almería
UD Almería have confirmed the loan departure of centre-back Edgar González to Croatian outfit HNK Hajduk Split. The agreement, reached by both clubs and the player, includes an option-to-buy, though the move is currently a straight loan.
Edgar, under contract with UD Almería until June 2028, has travelled to Croatia to finalise the deal and begin his new chapter in European competition.
The 27-year-old defender joined UD Almería ahead of the 2023/24 season from Real Betis, featuring prominently over 2 seasons. In his debut LaLiga campaign, he made 31 league appearances and featured once in the Spanish Cup. Last season in LaLiga Hypermotion, he was a mainstay playing 40 league matches, 2 in the promotion play-offs and 3 more in the Cup bringing his total to 77 games in UD Almería colours.
The Club thanks Edgar for his professionalism and commitment during his time at UD Almería and wishes him success in the next stage of his football career.
