UD Almería focus on Real Sociedad 'B' as league action resumes
Two crucial training days ahead before Friday’s challenge at the Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastián
After an intense start to the season, UD Almería are gearing up for their third LaLiga Hypermotion fixture of the campaign, set for Friday against Real Sociedad 'B'. With only two training days left on Wednesday and Thursday, the squad is focused on fine-tuning their preparations for the match in San Sebastián.
It has been a non-stop start to the season for the Indálicos, who have already played two fixtures in just one week and now face a busy schedule in the coming weeks. After the match against Real Sociedad 'B', they will quickly shift focus to challenging encounters with Racing Santander, Real Valladolid, Sporting Gijón, UD Las Palmas and Deportivo de La Coruña, all in quick succession.
However, for now, the team are taking things one game at a time, with all eyes on Friday’s clash at Anoeta Stadium (KO 7:30pm Spanish Time). Following their return from León on Monday, the squad underwent a recovery session and on Tuesday afternoon, the players resumed full training in preparation for what could be a tricky outing against the Basque side’s B-team.
Chirino, who missed the match in León due to personal reasons, has rejoined the group and is available for selection. Meanwhile, striker Léo Baptistão, who suffered a blow to the head and briefly lost consciousness in the previous match, has been cleared for light training but will rest for the next 48 hours as a precautionary measure. He was seen on the pitch during coach Rubi’s pep talk but later moved to the medical room to continue his recovery.
The team will fly to San Sebastián by charter flight on Friday, looking to extend their strong start to the season.
