Apologies to loyal UD Almería fans

The players and head coach Rubi approached the UD Almería travelling fans to apologise for being knocked out and unable to continue fighting for promotion to the top flight

After the play-offs second leg, the UD Almería players and head coach Rubi approached the 200 UD Almería travelling fans who covered a long distance in order to support and cheer on the team at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium in Oviedo and apologised.

The Rojiblancos started the 2024/25 season in August with the goal of promotion to the Primera division but have not been able to achieve it in the end despite having deservedly outplayed the Asturias outfit in the play-offs semi-finals and thus continuing their fight to reach the top flight of Spanish football.

The UD Almería fans have been supporting the team and making their voices heard far and wide all season long, with representatives in all LaLiga Hypermotion and Spanish Cup away matches. This Wednesday, despite being a weekday and 2,000 kilometres, they also showed their backing in Oviedo. Therefore, the players and the gaffer went to the visitors stands, first to warmly thank them for their efforts and then to apologise for not giving them the satisfaction, an apology that can be extended to all fans.
