The Senegalese midfielder was honoured by the Club and presented with a framed commemorative shirt marking his century of matches in red and white
Dion Lopy was honoured by UD Almería ahead of the match against Real Valladolid after making his 100th UD Almería appearance in the previous fixture away to Sporting Gijón. The Senegalese midfielder now joins the Club's growing list of centurions, following team-mates Sergio Arribas and Adrián Embarba, who also reached the milestone earlier this season.
UD Almería Managing Director Mohamed El Assy, presented Lopy with a framed shirt featuring the number 100 on the back. The tribute also included two photographs within the frame: one from his debut against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga and another from the recent match in Gijón where he reached the significant landmark.
Lopy joined UD Almería ahead of the 2023/24 season when the Andalusian side was competing in Spain's top flight. During that campaign, he made 30 league appearances and featured twice in the Spanish Cup.
In the 2024/25 season, playing in the second tier, the midfielder appeared in 36 league matches, 3 Spanish Cup fixtures and two promotion play-off games. This season, he has already added 27 league appearances and one Copa del Rey outing to his tally, taking him to the milestone of 100 matches in UD Almería colours.
The achievement highlights Lopy's consistency and importance to the team since arriving at the Club, establishing himself as a key figure in midfield over the past 3 seasons.
