‘Deportivo have to feel from the kick-off that Almeria want to win the game’

José María Gutiérrez says that his team will go all out to clinch the three points and rise higher in the standings

José María Gutiérrez gave a pre-match press conference to talk about Saturday's meeting against Deportivo de la Coruña, and he is aware of the importance of ‘going in the pitch from the very first minute giving 110 per cent’ because the Galicians ‘have to feel that Almería want to win from the start.’

Regarding the rivals, José María Gutiérrez Hernández stressed that ‘they are a team that defend deep, create danger by counterattacking, and stand out in their aerial control and passing.’ The head coach also added: ‘They have incorporated talented football players in the last winter transfer window, although the team also have players who were from the beginning. They are a great team.’

José María Gutiérrez shared his opinion that in the final stretch of the championship ‘there will be opportunities to rise higher in the table. The fact of being fighting to get to the automatic promotion spots is a great motivation for the players. ‘It is true that we are sitting third in a losing streak. If we have no motivation to move forward, it will be really complicated,’ said the head coach.

The UD Almeria boss linked his comments with the fans’ support, which ‘is essential for the team.’ Therefore, after pointing out that ‘we all have to come together’, José María Gutiérrez recalled that ‘the players must push themselves harder on the pitch to keep alive the fans and club’s hope to reach their ambitious goal.’
