Lázaro: We must be calm and confident as safety is in our own hands

The Brazilian UD Almería striker stated: The match against RCD Mallorca will be tough, but we will be playing at home with our fans

'Safety is in our own hands, we don't depend on anyone else's results, so we have to be calm and confident,' explains striker Lázaro Vinicius when assessing UD Almería's chances of LaLiga Santander survival during a catch-up with UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station.

Lázaro admitted that Saturday's fixture against RCD Mallorca 'is going to be tough,' but at the same time, he mentioned: 'We're playing at home, where we're strong, and with our fans, who always support us enormously.' He made it clear that a victory cannot escape them and insisted: 'We have to show our strength as hosts.'

Also, the UD Almería left-winger explained: 'I've only played Spanish football this season and I'm still learning many things. One of them is that you must be really focused in the league from the off until the ref whistles the end.' This was one of the keys, in his humble opinion, to getting some games off the ground because as specified 'you just can't play feeling stressed, and then he said: 'Everyone in the squad are keen to meet the objective.'

On a personal level, the 21-year-old  acknowledged feeling 'happy, but not completely satisfied,' since he could contribute much more. On that note, the Belo Horizonte native said: 'I still have to perfect some skills, but I've definitely improved since my arrival and I'm ready whenever the head coach decides to count on me. I work to my best ability every day to help the team,' as he has demonstrated his contribution by scoring goals this term.'
