Embarba: Our league fate is in our own hands and we can't speculate

The UD Almería right-winger made it clear before taking on his previous team: The team with something at stake must stand out on Sunday. We have to go all out attack.

'Our fate is in our own hands and we can't  speculate,' said UD Almería right-winger Adrian Embarba when talking about the final day at the RCDE Stadium with already-relegated RCD Espanyol de Barcelona hosting, the Rojiblanco attacker's previous team, with whom he started the current season before signing for UD Almería. He explained that the team with something at stake must stand out on Sunday. We have to go all out attack from the get go.'

The Madrid-born footballer also commented: 'We're calm and feeling confident because we've experienced this pressure more times. We have to take another step forward and represent the crest, the Club and the city to stay up in Primera Division.' Embarba added: 'We've gone through different streaks this season, but in the final stretch, the team have competed fiercely in all matches and have always been close to winning. We've even kept a clean sheet. We've also won away from home, which was our unfinished business for a long while. We haven't failed on key games.'

When asked about how they are feeling considering that they have a crunch survival clash on the last Matchday, the 31-year-old responded: 'The players are well aware of the situation. We all know the differences between playing in the top flight and the second tier and how much it means for the Club and for the city. Without putting extra pressure on us, we're going to make it for sure.'

With regard to the type of rivals he expects on Sunday, Embarba indicated: 'I expect Espanyol to compete since it'll be their last home game in the top tier and they'll want a win for their fans and because they're a great team. We don't think about drawing or that others do the work for us.'

The UD Almería player sent their loyal fans a message ahead of the last battle: 'We're really grateful for the travelling support and hopefully, we can celebrate league safety with them. Despite the decision of moving the kick-off forward isn't helpful (9pm), they'll be there with us as they've been throughout the entire season to achieve our objective of saving the campaign.'

Adrián Embarba admitted that it will be a special game for him when he returns to Cornellá, where he has played for the past few seasons. Meanwhile, the right-winger regretted that his his former team has officially been relegated and he said that they'll soon return to the first division.'
