De la Hoz: ‘We were determined to reverse January’s situation in February’

The UD Almeria co-captain, who is available again, assesses the team's reaction and expects a tough match against Real Zaragoza

‘We were determined to reverse the January’s situation in February and we’ve achieved it by winning all four games,’ explained UD Almeria central midfielder César de la Hoz as he caught up with the Club’s media. In addition, as he added ‘not only has it been perfect for us with the four victories, but we’ve restored the good vibes and that ability to created danger to the rivals in the final third.’

César de la Hoz is available for selection again after serving a one-game ban. Having rested on the previous Matchday has been good for him. In fact, the 29-year-old pointed out in this regard ‘although it made me angry when they showed me the yellow card against CD Mirandés because I wanted to play it all, the truth is that it’s also good to rest for a weekend, disconnect a bit to return full of beans.’

The Rojiblanco midfielder warns of how complicated Friday's match will be as he pointed out ‘Real Zaragoza are in good form at the moment, they’ve won their last two games and on top of that, we’ve always known that La Romareda is a very difficult field to win in this tier.’ He clarified ‘we are already working on preparing this league appointment to take the three points home because it’s tight at the top of the table.’ A victory in La Romareda would be crucial for the prime goal of UD Almería, as César de la Hoz recognised, especially since there was a big game on this day between promotion-hunters CD Tenerife and Real Valladolid CF.

With regard to the injuries picked up by quite a few squad members, the Cantabria native player is an alternative to be able to play as a centre-back. When questioned about this, he stressed ’we’re on a negative streak with plenty of injuries; also suffered by players of the same position. It's sad because they were working very well, and now, at this precise moment, they're missing out. It's hard for them and also for the team, who struggle as a result. Anyway, we’re a great squad and if I have to play as a central defender, I will. It’s not an unknown position for me and I’ll try to help as much as I can.’
