David Costas reinforces the UD Almeria’s defence

UD Almeria have agreed a deal to sign the Galician, 24 years old, on loan from Real Club Celta de Vigo with an option to buy the centre-back.

David Costas arrived in Almeria to conclude the deal in the final days of the January transfer window, with Celta later confirming his move. The centre-back David Costas, who is 24 years old and 1.84 metres high (6.04 ft). This is the third signing after keeps Sivera and midfielder Kaptoum, who are also new UD Almeria players on loan from Deportivo Alavés and Real Betis Balompié, respectively. 

David Costas is fast and aggressive. The centre-back is an expert at wrestling the ball away from opposition strikers high upfield. At the age of 18, Luis Enrique made him debut with the Celta de Vigo first team in the First Division, as well as premiering in the UEFA. This season has been lined up in six league games and twice in the Copa del Rey. 

David Costas began his career at Chapela CF, his home town club. The new UD Almeria player has previously been loaned to Real Mallorca, Real Oviedo and FC Barcelona B. The defender was called up several times by Barça and debuted in a Copa del Rey match. David Costas has been international U19 and U21 with Spain.
