
UD Almería complete third signing with addition of Daijiro Chirino
The new central defender is 23 years old and moves from CD Castellón, with whom he played 40 fixtures last season. He signs until June 2030
Daijiro Chirino becomes UD Almería's third summer signing after the recruits of forward Patrick Soko (SD Huesca) and left-back Alex Muñoz (UD Las Palmas). The young 23-year-old was a highly sought-after player after his outstanding season with CD Castellón. He plays as a central defender. He is 1.86m tall and is characterised by his reliability and defensive prowess.
Daijiro Florencio Chirino was born on 24 January, 2002 in the Dutch town of Zwolle, where he began his development as a footballer, eventually reaching the first team. In the 2023/24 season, he signed for CD Castellón, playing a key role in the La Plana side's promotion to second-tier LaLiga Hypermotion. Last term, in the second tier of Spanish football, he made 40 appearances; 38 in the regular season and two in the Spanish Cup.
Chirino had renewed his contract with CD Castellón until 2028, but the player has agreed personal terms with UD Almería. He has signed the deal until June 2030.
