Curro Sánchez: ‘We have to be focused from the off because CD Tenerife will go all out for a win’

The UD Almería right-winger states ‘we want to hold our privileged position’

One more player sat down with the Club in-house media. UD Almería midfielder Curro Sánchez spoke on UDA Radio about the match that the Rojiblancos will be playing on Monday in Tenerife against direct rivals in the race for promotion to the Spanish top tier. The player from the UD Almeria team underlines ‘it’s a good game to play as two contenders eager to move up to the Primera Division will be face to face.’ Meanwhile he also highlighted ‘everything is decided in the last ten matches and we’ve got eleven to go; every game will be a final.’

The footballer from Huelva explained ‘it’s getting more and more difficult to win away, but we’re going to Tenerife with the aim of getting all three points because we’d be taking a really important step.’ It would mean, as he stated, ‘holding our privileged position. Anyone would like to be placed where we’re at the moment.’

Regarding the rivals from the Spanish island, the 26-year-old said ‘this is the time when they’ve been the most consistent in recent seasons, a great team with quality players and very difficult to score and beat them.’ In addition, as Curro added, ‘it’ll be key to be very focused from the off because they’re characterised by always starting the games by going all out for a win.’

The La Palma del Condado native indicated that UD Almería have been able to overcome hard times and although they’ve only picked up one point in the last two Match weeks, the team has been at their best despite the results achieved. In the same way, the former international Spain U19 valued how CD Tenerife reacted in Gijón after their 1-4 dramatic loss to Real Valladolid CF at the beginning of March.
