Curro Sánchez: ‘UD Almería is a team that competes every single minute of the game’

The midfielder considers that their winning streak is because of all the details are worked on in training

Curro Sánchez has a comforting thought when he thinks about the role that UD Almeria perform every weekend in LaLiga SmartBank: ‘UD Almería is a team that competes every single minute of the game.’ The footballer's clear appreciation is not a coincidence but he takes it as a fact caused by working ‘all the details’ in training. The player also pointed out ‘the good thing is that we win without having good matches.’

The Sevillian midfielder highlighted during a press conference that another of the keys to achieving six consecutive wins is that there is ‘a large squad with internal competition,’ so that no one has time to relax. ‘We’re a good bunch of players and that’s reflected on the pitch because whoever starts or plays does it well,’  he said.

With regard to the next league meeting against Real Valladolid CF next Saturday, Curro considers it essential that UD Almería defend their lead at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium by ‘playing with the ambition to get the 3 points while everyone is united.’ On this subject, Curro stated: ‘We’re actually similar teams that like taking control of the game. Whoever makes a mistake will pay dearly for it. We need finishing and shooting accuracy as we have quality up front. We must take advantage of what we have.’

The 25-year-old Rojiblanco is keenly aware of what LaLiga SmartBank is like as he stressed that one of the most difficult aspects is being achieved at UD Almería, which is ‘to be able to win points of advantage’ and to keep up the positive results despite the fact that in some duels they do not show their best ability. ‘We want to make history and we’re achieving it with six consecutive victories,’ explained the midfielder.
