Curro Muñoz joins first-team training ahead of Sunday's fixture

UD Almería step up preparations for key game against Real Sociedad 'B'

UD Almería have returned to training following their midweek rest day and are now entering the final stretch of preparations for Sunday’s fixture against Real Sociedad 'B'.

The Andalusian side will host the match at the UD Almería Stadium (KO 9pm CET). It marks the end of a demanding stretch for the team, who opened the previous Matchday last Friday and now begin a run of 3 games in 7 days. After a brief pause, the focus has shifted fully toward fine-tuning for a challenging opponents known for both quality and physical strength.

A fresh face featured in Thursday’s training session: UD Almería 'B' midfielder Curro Muñoz. Head coach Rubi, who had already called up forward Iker Burgos earlier in the week, turned to the young midfielder to cover for absences. Stefan Dzôdić is away on international duty with Serbia U21, while Gui Guedes continues individual recovery work due to a right adductor injury. Additionally, Baptistão will miss the match through suspension.

Muñoz, a 23-year-old from Jerez de la Frontera, joined UD Almería 'B' during the January transfer window from Villarreal 'B'. This marks his first involvement with the senior squad under Rubi’s guidance.

UD Almería will complete their preparations with a couple of final closed-door sessions on Friday and Saturday, both held at the match venue.
