Cuenca and Morlanes receive their awards as members of ‘Silver XI Football Draft’
The two Rojiblancos are among the best young players in Spanish football
UD Almería centre-back Cuenca and midfielder Manu Morlanes have received their awards as members of the Silver XI Football Draft, an initiative that emerged in 2006 to reward the best young footballers in Spain each year. Football Draft, made up of representatives of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), AFE, Professional Football League (LFP), Spain Sports Council and journalists, compile a list of 99 players and after a series of meetings, footballers are discarded until reaching the 33 that will integrate into the Gold XI, Silver XI and Bronze XI.
The Silver XI is made up of the following players: Arnau Tenas (FC Barcelona goalkeeper), Alex Pozo (Sevilla FC right-back), Daniel Vivián (Athletic Club right-back), Jorge Cuenca (UD Almería left-back), Manu Sánchez (left-back At. Madrid), Pol Lozano (RCD Espanyol midfielder), Manu Morlanes (UD Almería midfielder), Brahim Díaz (Real Madrid right-wing), Roberto López (Real Sociedad midfielder), Ander Barrenetxea (Real Sociedad left-wing) and Andrés Martín (Rayo Vallecano centre-forward).
As for the Gold XI, FC Barcelona Pedri and Ansu Fati; Manchester City Ferrán Torres and Eric García and Valencia CF Guillamón are included among others.
