Gaizka Garitano has opened up during an in-depth interview with UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station. The UD Almería head coach acknowledged being 'restless and curious' and 'always eager to read and learn things every day.' In addition to a long and proven footballing career both on the pitch and in the dugout, he graduated in Journalism: 'Football takes us up almost all day but with me, you can talk about a lot of topics... films, books or politics. I've always been like that. I'm a different person inside and outside work; I'm a bit shy but away from football I like to laugh and be happy,' he commented on his personality.

The Rojiblancos' gaffer has referred to his way of facing day-to-day life: 'Within the Club and with the players I want seriousness and hard graft. We aren't here to have fun. We're screwed and that's how we must show ourselves to be aware of the reality. I'm not happy at all.' In relation to achieving objectives, Mr Garitano has related something interesting: 'The best memories I have as a pro footballer are those that have to do with getting through tough patches like this one, which I've experienced before; when you manage to turn it around, you'll remember it as a league title win or earning promotion. We can reverse this complicated situation and that's why we must fight to the death.'

The interview has also covered the latest news such as the meeting held between the referees and the coaches last Tuesday: 'I didn't go because my place was here. I wasn't going to abandon my players. We need to work and we had training and that's why I wanted to be here with them. The most important thing now is UD Almería.'

Regarding next Spanish Cup second-round opponents UD Barbastro, he indicated: 'We've put it on hold because our priority is the league and the next up, Getafe CF. Logically when we face the match we'll have to win it because we're in the top division to team. Our obligation is to win and qualify.'
