Club Statement regarding CR Flamengo’s post on X

UD Almería do not usually comment publicly on ongoing judicial or arbitral proceedings and firmly and consistently maintain their position that the amounts being claimed by the Brazilian club are not owed

UD Almería have become aware, with surprise, of the Official Statement published by Brazilian Série A side CR Flamengo on their official account on the X platform, entitled 'UD ALMERÍA OWE FLAMENGO APPROXIMATELY €1.8 MILLION FOR 590 DAYS.'

UD Almería do not usually comment publicly on ongoing judicial or arbitral proceedings. However, in light of the content of that publication, the Andalusian Club are compelled to clarify that CR Flamengo have omitted relevant circumstances, in particular the formal representations made by UD Almería regarding the application of the Double Taxation Agreement between Spain and Brazil and the possibility of resorting to the mechanisms provided therein, matters of which CR Flamengo were fully aware.

UD Almería firmly and consistently maintain their position that the amounts being claimed are not owed. The dispute has been duly submitted to the competent Arbitral Tribunal, where it must be resolved exclusively on the basis of the legal arguments and evidence presented by both parties.

The post made by the Brazilian side, while the proceedings remain pending, constitutes an improper attempt to exert external influence on an ongoing arbitral process. UD Almería consider that such actions are incompatible with the principles of procedural good faith, equality of the parties and the proper administration of arbitral justice.

UD Almería will continue to defend their position exclusively within the corresponding arbitral proceedings.
