Club Statement
UD Almería call for calm and insists recent incidents do not affect strong relations with Málaga CF
UD Almería reiterates their firm rejection of the incidents that occurred on Sunday in the build-up to the match against Málaga CF. At the same time, the Club condemn the events that took place after the final whistle. UD Almería consider these to be isolated and exceptional actions that in no way reflect or affect the cordial relationship that has always existed and will continue to exist between Málaga CF and UD Almería. Our Club maintain respectful and positive ties with all Spanish football clubs in general, and with fellow Andalusian sides in particular.
Furthermore, UD Almería have requested information from the Policía Nacional regarding the security operation implemented last Sunday for the visit of Málaga CF, in order to provide answers to supporters, many of whom have asked the Club for clarification about the pre-match incidents and whether they could have been avoided.
The Club value and respect the work of the State Security Forces, with whom they maintain ongoing cooperation, as expected. Meanwhile, UD Almería are fully committed to addressing the concerns of their fans, who are the fundamental pillar of the Club.
In this regard, UD Almería remain at the disposal of the Policía Nacional to coordinate and collaborate ahead of upcoming fixtures, should it be necessary. It should be noted that the 'Let’s Do It Again' campaign has been launched to help create a positive atmosphere in support of the team’s push for promotion to LaLiga EA Sports, with various initiatives planned in which safety will be a priority.
UD Almería truly believe that sportsmanship and common sense must prevail so that football, fair play and the spectacle remain the true focus, together with our supporters.
