UD Almería players report for pre-season medicals

The medical tests are taking place at Vithas Almería Hospital. Pre-season training officially starts on Sunday but some non-international players have already reported at the Power Horse Stadium

UD Almería are ready for the upcoming 2023/24 season in the Primera Division, a competition now called LaLiga EA Sports. Some non-international UD Almería players have already reported for pre-season medicals, which will also continue this Saturday. Pre-season training officially starts this Sunday with a double session to be conducted at the Anexo training pitch.

The medicals are taking place at the Vithas Almería Hospital and at the Power Horse Stadium. Fitness tests and pre-season medical assessments are a essential part of the season carried out by the hospital's cardiology team as well as the Club's medical services.

The diagnostic tests performed on the players include a blood test, an electrocardiogram, echocardiography, stress test, and a also a cardiological review under the supervision of Dr Rafael Sola Casado, a prestigious cardiologist with more than 36 years of experience.

These medicals began last Thursday with the medical assessment of latest summer signing Édgar González prior to putting pen-to-paper on his new deal. This Friday, all the players with a contract who have been in the squad or have been loaned to other Spanish clubs have been at the hospital and the Stadium, including 'B' team players Obon, Marciano and Marezi.

Moreover, Babić, El Bilal Touré, Samú Costa and Ramazani have not yet joined the group as they began their holidays later since they were called up for international duty by their respective national teams. Non-internationals are due to start pre-season training on Sunday, with the rest of the internationals' returns staggered next week.
