Chumi joins team training as UD Almería prepare for Cádiz CF clash
UD Almería resume training after the vital victory over AD Ceuta FC last Sunday. Lopy does ball work on the pitch, although on the sidelines. The squad will have a rest day this Tuesday
UD Almería have started the first week of training for the month of February, which will end on Saturday with the Andalusian derby against Cádiz CF. The news is positive as, in addition to returning to winning ways after 3 winless matches, Chumi has trained with the team. Although he has not yet been given the all-clear, the Laracha native participated in most of the session with the rest of his team-mates.
Lopy also did some ball work on the pitch, though on the sidelines, with exercises more demanding than in previous days.
Head coach Rubi had already mentioned in the pre-Ceuta press conference that both players could be available for the match at Nuevo Mirandilla stadium on Saturday at 9pm (Spanish Time). They are on the right track, but it is still too early to say whether they will be available. For now, the reality is that they are in the final stages of recovering from their respective injuries.
Aside from their situation, Dzôdić will definitely be absent due to suspension. Nico Melamed, with muscle discomfort, has been receiving treatment from the team's physiotherapists in the medical room and doing specific and alternative work.
The training session was focused on recovery for the players who started against the Caballa team, while the rest of the squad trained harder at the Anexo base during another unpleasant morning with wind and rain.
This Tuesday will be a day off for the team and they will return to training on Wednesday to focus on Saturday’s clash against Cádiz CF at the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium.
