'Choco' Lozano: "We have to get back on our feet and hope that we can win this match"

The UD Almería centre-forward expressed in a press conference how difficult the match against Getafe CF is going to be in terms of football and emotion, but he assures: 'We're going to give everything for the fans.'

UD Almería centre-forward Anthony 'Choco' Lozano has given a press conference to talk about the club's current situation and discuss the UD Almería next encounter against Getafe CF, the Honduran striker's former team. 'Personally, I'm happy because I was looking for the goal all season and all my team-mates congratulated me because they knew I was working hard to get it there. It was shame that we didn't bring the fans joy by achieving victory at home. Now we have another opportunity against Getafe CF,' he stressed.

'They're a team that knows how to compete and fights for every ball. They're very brave with quality players. It's going to be nice to meet them again and play that game,' the 30-year-old added.

The next league fixture is going to be decisive since a defeat would mathematically ensure they go down to the Segunda Division. 'It's a hard reality for us, but we must get out onto the pitch with the thought of winning and try our very best. We're going to give everything to bring joy to the fans,' 'Choco' stated.

'Choco' Lozano, when this season ends, will return to his parent club Getafe CF, however, the Honduran will always feel a deep affection for Almería city and its people: 'I'm very grateful to Almería and the fans. They're treating me with a lot of respect.'

'I try to work hard, put in my best effort and make the most of every minute. From there, things may go good or wrong, but you must always have the can-do attitude,' he continued.

The UD Almeria centre-forward still cannot explain why they have not achieved victory even at the Power Horse Stadium: 'We put in the graft every day. We're a good team with very experienced footballers and other younger ones. The situation is what it is, but every weekend we end up talking about the same thing, the team plays well, competes, but for one reason or another that victory at home does not come. We've played very well against top-of-the-table teams and we're in a good team dynamic in which you create big chances, but we can't score while our opponents, score a goal in just a couple of opportunities... it's difficult to recover after these setbacks and train with that burden, but we must get back on our feet and hope that we can win that game and leave with at least that joy. It hurts us to see that the fans come and support us, they're with us and for one reason or another, we aren't obtaining good results. It's hard for us too, but we know that it's being very complicated for the fans,' he explained. This is how sincere the UD Almería player ended his press conference.
