Pre-Season medicals and training underway!
UD Almería have officially begun pre-season preparations, starting with comprehensive medical check-ups at the Vithas Hospital. The squad underwent these essential tests ahead of the season’s first practice, scheduled for this afternoon at the Anexo training ground
The pre-season medicals were overseen by Dr Rafael Sola Casado, a veteran cardiologist with over 39 years of experience. Despite the early morning disruption caused by an earthquake in Almería, the players arrived at the hospital to complete a series of diagnostic tests. These included blood analyses, electrocardiograms, cardiac echocardiograms, and stress tests (ergometry), among others, as part of a thorough cardiovascular examination.
Chirino was the first player to arrive, soon followed by the rest of the squad. Among those present were new signings Soko, Chirino, Álex Muñoz, Luna, and Dzodi, as well as returning players such as Léo Baptistão, Álex Centelles, Lázaro, and Selvi Clua.
The collaboration between UD Almería and the Vithas Almería Hospital continues to play a crucial role in supporting the players’ health. The hospital remains the primary medical partner for the Club, providing specialised care for both current squad members and new additions throughout the 2025/26 season.
This strategic alliance reinforces the Club’s commitment to prioritising cardiovascular health and elite medical monitoring in professional football.
