UD Almería pull off late deadline day move to bring in César Montes

The Mexico international is a centre-back who moves from RCD Espanyol de Barcelona. He was signed shortly before the transfer window ended. Done deal!

UD Almería pulled off a late deadline day move to bring in César Montes and complete the squad. The sought-after central defender's deal was done shortly before the end of the summer transfer window and while the Rojiblancos were playing host to rivals RC Celta de Vigo on Matchday 4. UD Almería, RCD Espanyol de Barcelona and the Mexican footballer have reached an agreement for his transfer as he signs until June 2028. 
 
César Jasib Montes Castro was born in the Mexican town of Hermosillo on 24th February, 1997. He is 26 years old and his footballing career has developed at FC Monterrey in his home country, playing 265 games with the first team, in which he has netted 13 goals and provided team-mates with 10 assists. In the last winter transfer window, he arrived at Espanyol. He was lined up 22 times and scored three goals.
 
Montes is 1.96 metres tall, which makes him a real aerial threat, he also has a fancy footwork as he is a defender with passing accuracy. The brand-new UD Almería defender is a México international, having worn the jersey of his country 39 times.
